ABSEIL INSTRUCTOR - PACI QUALIFICATION COURSE
About the Abseil Instructor qualification course
Instructor qualifications are about teaching & transferring skills in an arena in which a mistake can mean catastrophe. Lengthy experience on rope and a good technical ability does not necessarily confer the ability to instruct (especially in accordance with AQTF guidelines) and this is where Instructor training is paramount for professional roping leaders & guides who want to go that step further. Instructors within the PACI system are endorsed to run their own training and issue statements of attainment and / or qualifications (insurance & membership provisions apply).
The course runs over four or five days (32 - 40 contact hours) depending on the range of endorsements sought.
The course identifies the following units:
BSZ401A Plan assessment
BSZ403A Review assessment
BSZ407A Deliver training sessions
BSZ402A Conduct assessment
Endorsements may include:
Artificial structure (e.g. climbing walls, ropes courses etc)
Single pitch applications
Multi pitch applications
Top rope climbing
