BASIC TRACKING

Concept

Tracking is an amazing skill which is largely unobtainable in a course format here in Australia. Taught by an ex military tracking instructor with heavy reference to the work of the American tracking guru Tom Brown. During this one day seminar / practical program we look at interpretation of sign (animal and human), reading pressure releases, 'aging' of signs & tracks, movement & camouflage.

The second half of the day is spent actually tracking one another through the bush, following minute signs & telltale marks with your new found skills.

A two day advanced tracking program is also available with an overnight field stay. We look at mapping routes using dead reckoning techniques, advanced sign interpretation, game trails & scat interpretation and a host of other bush skills. Conducted in a semi rainforest environment.

These courses are great for bushwalking enthusiasts who want to get a deeper understanding & 'feel' for the bush, professional guides, Search & Rescue personnel, military, law enforcement etc.
