ROPE ACCESS - ARAA Level 1 A five day (40 hour) course designed to give the student a certificate of competency in twin rope access techniques. The course covers industry legislation, standards and the ARAA Code of Practice, fall protection hierarchies for work at height, rope access equipment, knots and anchor rigging, rope mobility (ascending, descending, lateral movement), using tools and equipment whilst in suspension and mid rope self & partner rescues. Pre course reading is supplied prior to the program and all equipment is supplied. Successful candidates receive a Work Cover / ARAA approved Certificate of Competency valid for three years. |
ROPE ACCESS - ARAA Level 3 A five day course for Level 2 students who wish to become advanced site supervisors. Level 3 rope access training deals largely with risk assessment processes for rope access & other work at height, advanced site rigging & supervision, dealing with additional work variables such as confined space, hot work, complex aid climbing and running teams in a rope access environment. We also look at difficult rescue scenarios such as rescue from aid, breaking into loaded lines, pitch head raises, rescue from a loop traverse and keel hauls. Load management via a number of techniques including Tyrolean traverses or 'tramways' is covered in some detail with a number of team tasks assigned to the student group during the course. Level 3 is a fairly involved and strenuous course and students are expected to supply their own PPE including kit for aid climbing. Successful candidates receive a Work Cover / ARAA approved Certificate of Competency valid for three years. |
ROPE ACCESS - ARAA Level 2 A five day course for students who already hold ARAA / IRATA Level 1 or who have industry experience and wish to apply for direct entry based on RPL / RCC (recognition of prior learning / recognition of current competency). Level 2 is a basic site supervisor course and covers advanced rigging, aid climbing, loop traverses and more complex rescue procedures. Students also look extensively at Job Safety Analyses (JSA's) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for work involving rope access and aid climbing techniques. As with the Level 1 program pre course reading is supplied prior and all equipment is supplied (other than where students have their own). Successful candidates receive a Work Cover / ARAA approved Certificate of Competency valid for three years. |
