About the VR2 Team Leader Course
The VR2 course is designed as a follow on training program for rescue team leaders who have completed VR1 or have existing vertical rescue qualifications. The program is built around the nationally endorsed PACI Leadership course and is contextualized to industrial vertical rescue.
Realistic industrial rescue scenarios are used to develop leadership skills as well as higher level technical rope rescue capabilities.
The VR2 course identifies the following Leadership units:
Implement & monitor risk management policies & procedures for working at height
Train small groups
Implement & monitor minimum impact work practices
Plan & lead a rescue activity involving work at height
Coordinate emergency response in situations that involve exposure to falls from height
The units are delivered contextually within a framework of industrial rescue.
Students receive a nationally recognized Leadership Qualification (Industrial Vertical Rescue) on successful completion of the training & assessment.

Minimum number of eight students per course. The course fee covers training resources, all rescue equipment, assessment, provision of Statements of Attainment.
Existing personal (or workplace) PPE & rescue kit should be used for consistency, however SAR will supply the latest in rope rescue equipment on demand.
