Many thanks to everyone who attended the inaugural safety seminar. Here is a sample of the feedback emails from the Canyon lecture.

"Just wanted to thank you very much for devoting your time to useful seminars such as the one you presented on canyoning last night at Mountain Equipment in the city. Informative forums such as those should be encouraged, and your efforts and initiative are very well appreciated."

"Thank you very much for a very interesting session last night.
I have been canyoning for some years and lead a few groups (always with experienced abseilers and without any incidents so far).  As I mentioned last night, I've got a 3 page Risk Check List and was impressed with your comprehensive Risk Analysis. Last night also showed me that I am not skilled and equipped enough to safely lead trips - I suppose I have been lucky or chose the party members well (there always was somebody on the trip who had done the trip before, had extensive rope experience).  I am interested to build my skills and experience.  Can you give me some advise on a possible learning path. I would like to start with refreshing my self-rescue skills - (I've never had to practice in a 'real' situation and one tends to forget)."

"Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent session you ran at Mountain Equipment last Wednesday. I thought it was very valuable & I'm sure everyone appreciated the time & effort that went into preparing & running the session. I was particularly impressed with the risk management approach you described and the risk analysis you presented."

"By the way, for your info re marketing, I heard about you guys at the Mountain Equipment lecture on canyon safety in the city. Great presentation considering the time restraints and varying levels of knowledge".

AG is very proud to be hosting the inaugural Leave No Trace (www.LNT.org) Masters Program here in the Blue Mountains this March. The program is being co-ordinated by LNT / NOLS Australia and is designed as a 'train the trainer' program in environmental ethics.

Peru '03 is on the drawing board for aspiring mountaineers and will take place July / August this year in the Cordillera Blanca region of Peru. The trip is limited to six participants (with three guides) and is designed for those with little or no mountaineering / trekking experience but a strong desire to learn mountaineering skills in one of the truly great mountain ranges of the world. Three peaks will be attempted during the expedition, all of which are within the reach of the fit and motivated. For more details email us here to be put on the update list or check the Peru '03 page on this website.
